Lower Trunk Rotation

Spinal mobility & lower-back release

Lower back core

How to

Lying on your back with knees bent and feet flat, keep your shoulders on the floor and slowly let both knees fall to one side, then bring them back to center and repeat to the other side.

Benefits

  • Gently mobilizes the lower spine without any weight-bearing load
  • A common, well-tolerated stretch for general lower-back stiffness
  • Easy to do first thing in the morning before getting out of bed

Practice

8-10 slow rotations per side, only going as far as feels comfortable — the knees don't need to touch the floor.
