Doorway Chest Stretch

Chest & front-shoulder opener

Chest upper back

How to

Stand in a doorway with your forearms against each side of the frame, elbows roughly at shoulder height. Step one foot forward and lean your torso through the doorway until your chest opens.

Benefits

  • Directly counters the forward-hunched posture of typing and driving
  • Opens the chest for easier, fuller breathing
  • One of the few stretches that targets the front of the shoulder directly

Practice

Hold 20-30 seconds, adjusting how far you lean to control the intensity. No doorway needed — a wall corner works the same way.
