Diaphragmatic Breathing
Belly breathing
The pattern
Inhale 4 · Exhale 6. Repeat for about 8 rounds.
Why it helps
Breathing from the diaphragm rather than the chest is the foundation most other techniques build on, and lowers baseline tension on its own.
How to do it
One hand on the belly, one on the chest. Inhale so the belly rises while the chest stays still, then exhale slowly as the belly falls.
Good for
- Learning the basics
- Lowering baseline tension
- Warm-up for other techniques
